OS18 Frontier Sawmill Info: https://bit.ly/3I0ktkdTanja and I assembled the OS18 portable sawmill by @FrontierSawmills This is a step by step video. I hope you find it helpful. The directions were clear with great pictures. The first cut will be tomorrow. Stay tuned for TYM Tractor: https://tym-tractors.com/
Wood Project: Oak Post & Beam Swing with Mortise & Tenon Joints. With all of the projects going on, it is still essential for us to have a place to slow down on the homestead. We harvested a lovely White Oak tree from our future house build location. I hated taking the tree, but it had to go; this way, it would stay with us for years and years.
We finished up cutting fence posts on the sawmill. @Frontier Sawmills @TYM Tractors Hank's Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/HamiltonvilleFarm
We have been using diesel to cut Southern Yellow Pine with our Frontier OS23 Sawmill for over six months without a problem. When we upgraded the engine to double the horsepower changing the belt, it changed everything. It is reasonable to think, the belt gets hotter under the stronger belt load. The belt keeps melting down when using just a drop of diesel. Soap and RV antifreeze will have to do. Clean-up will be harder, but it stopped melting belts off.
Viewers asked for Real Portable Sawmill Action on our OS23 sawmill by Frontier Sawmills. I have had many viewers ask me to make a sawmill video with more detail. In this video, we are cutting up 17' purlins for our trusses. We are cutting true 2" x 4" Tulip Poplar up. It is a very lightweight, but strong wood. It works great as long as it stays dry. We are using the OS23 portable sawmill by Frontier Sawmills. I hope this is enough detail. On a side note. We are loving the T25 by TYM Tractors
We have the OS23 Frontier Sawmill up and running again. It took a minute to build a sawmill pad to work on. We carved it out of the woods. I get this question a great deal, "Would you buy a Frontier sawmill again?" I cover the good and bad of the sawmill in this video.
The grain in this log is a miracle. The grain in this Red Oak just pops. So many possibilites. It has the deepest red color of any Red Oak we have ever cut. We had a fresh blade on the OS23 by Frontier Sawmill. It just ripped through this log even though it was Oak.
Largest Log Yet, but not what we wanted. Unsuspected creepy surprise in Center of Log. We cut through it!
We were able to make 1"x11" Red Cedar boards out of this cut. The smell was amazing.
Learn with us in our adventures with our portable sawmill. In this video, you will learn one of the most important things to have once you buy your sawmill. It is common sense, but it is overlooked!
We are learning! The more we mill, the more we learn.
Check out the first log we cut on our Frontier Sawmills OS23 #frontiersawmills
The Frontier Sawmills OS23 portable sawmill is rated to cut a 23 inch diameter log. We pushed this sawmill to the limit, but got it done. Watches as we cut an oversized Red Oak log into 12 inch boards. The TYM Tractors T264 and the Worksaver grapple is saving our backs. We are having so much fun and learning more each log on this sawmill. This is only our second log, but I would do it different if I had to do it again. I should have cut the rotted side off first, but I was just so excited to cut, that I didn't think it through. There are so many brands of sawmills like Norwood, Woodmizer, D&L, Timberking, Woodland Mills, Harbor Freight, etc. Research and learn what you need. @Frontier Sawmills #tymtractor #frontiersawmills #logstolumber #portablesawmill #lumber #woodmizer, #woodlandmills #woodmizer #norwood #timberkingsawmill
